What are Kriyas?
Derived from the Sanskrit word “kri” meaning “to do” or “action,”. Shat Kriyas, also known as Shatkarmas, are six distinct purification practices that prepare the body for advanced yoga and meditation. Each kriya targets specific systems within the body, promoting detoxification, balance, and enhanced energy flow.
The foundational texts like the “Hatha Yoga Pradipika” and “Gheranda Samhita” elaborate on the significance and methods of various kriyas, emphasizing their role in achieving a state of purity and enlightenment.
