500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training

IYA 500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course

500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Mysore

As your yogic journey matures, so does the pull toward advanced practices and subtler techniques. This 500-hour yoga teacher training in Mysore (Advanced Yoga TTC) is built for practitioners ready to go deeper into their own Sadhana while sharpening your ability to pass that depth on to future students. Here’s everything you need to know about this advanced-level teaching credential.

Why This Certification Exists
IYA designed this 500-hour Yoga teacher training certification to set a common, dependable baseline: wherever an IYA-certified teacher goes on to teach, students can trust they’re learning from someone trained to a consistent, recognized standard of yoga knowledge and skill.

What You Receive
A permanent Indian Yoga Association (IYA) certificate, free IYA Yoga Professional membership, and eligibility to sit the YCB (Yoga Certification Board) exam under the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.

What is the advantage for a member?
IYA maintains a public portal listing certified Yoga professionals under this scheme, so certification at this level isn’t just a credential on paper — it’s visibility that can open doors to more advanced teaching opportunities.

Can You Teach after this course?
Yes. At the advanced level, certified teachers are equipped to lead Common Yoga Protocol sessions and public health-promotion events like International Day of Yoga, run classes in parks, RWAs, and wellness centers, and take on more advanced studio or therapeutic teaching roles.

The Role of the Indian Yoga Association
IYA sets the syllabus for this course and accredits the institutes that deliver it. Manjushree Yoga Vidyalaya is an accredited member institute for this course. Certificates issued to candidates who complete the course successfully are permanent, and IYA reserves the right to audit member institutes’ delivery of the course.

Guidelines for Students & Guests

Once you’ve enrolled in a course at Manjushree Yoga Vidyalaya, we ask every student to embrace the following guidelines in the spirit of being part of our yoga community — not as restrictions, but as shared commitments that keep the learning environment focused and peaceful for everyone.

Manjushree Yoga Vidyalaya is a place of practice and learning, not a hotel or guesthouse. We ask all students to be mindful of this, keeping in mind that our shared goal is to protect an atmosphere that supports genuine reflection and deep learning for every student present:

  1. In keeping with a sattvic lifestyle, non-vegetarian food (meat, fish, or eggs) is not permitted on the premises.
  2. Please maintain quiet and stillness during all classes; personal questions are welcome after the session ends.
  3. For everyone’s safety and wellbeing, residential students are asked to return to the premises no later than 10 p.m.
  4. All students are expected to attend scheduled classes, meditation sessions, and prayers regularly. Exemptions are only made for genuine health reasons.
  5. Smoking, alcohol, and any form of intoxicants are strictly not permitted on the premises.
  6. Please keep music at a low volume within your accommodation, and avoid playing any music after 10 p.m.
  7. This is your space as much as ours — we ask all students to be respectful of one another and help maintain a warm, family-like atmosphere rooted in care and peace. Anger and conflict have no place here.
  8. Please help us keep the premises clean. Karma Yoga, small acts of care for shared spaces are part of the practice itself.
  9. Please dress respectfully at all times. (avoid tank tops, or excessively tight or revealing clothing when you are around Mysuru).
  10. Friends, relatives, or outside visitors are not permitted inside residential areas, but are welcome to meet students in the reception area.
  11. Residential students are expected to wash and dry their own clothing; a paid laundry service is also available at a reasonable charge.
  12. Room or accommodation changes require prior approval, and may occasionally be necessary due to operational or seasonal circumstances.

We see this less as a transaction and more as a shared experience — a community coming together around practice, discipline, and mutual respect.
